Archival Ceremony at Moreland-Spingard Research Center

Our National Archivist and Third National President Lady Carolyne Lamar Jordan and Gent Lawrence M. Jordan planned a superlative Archival Dedication.

History was made on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the unveiling and placement of the Commemorative Plaque dedicated to our archives in the Moorland-Spingarn manuscript collection of Howard University’s Founder’s Library. We viewed early chapter charters, photographs and other artifacts of the organization from its inception to today.

Our commemorative plaque was placed in "one of the world's largest and most comprehensive repositories for the documentation of the history and culture of people of African descent in Africa, the Americas and other parts of the world."

Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall

Chapter delegates and members journeyed to view the majestic Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall.

We viewed The Stone of Hope and the Mountain of Despair which together represents the soul-stirring words from Dr. King’s history-making "I Have a Dream" speech.

Along our journey, we experienced the awe of our nations historical monuments and the beautiful cherry blossoms.
